  • i.Lab at UVA 621 Nash Drive Charlottesville, VA 22911 USA (map)

CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY: If City schools close or are delayed on the day of C-E2, then C-E2 is cancelled.

Charlottesville Entrepreneurs and Espresso will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. The format of C-E2 will consist of networking over coffee, a pitch from Lee Elberson of Clayborne Education with time for Q&A, and a "School of Hard Knocks" session with Rob Masri of Cardagin Networks.

Clayborne Education, founded in 2009, is built on the conviction that one-to-one engagement helps personalize education in a way that accentuates students’ unique skills and inculcates those that are lacking. We understand that every student learns in a different way and at a different pace. This is why Test Preparation at Clayborne begins with a tailored program designed to fit the needs of each individual student, and why Academic Coaching begins with a personal consultation. Our tutors get to know their students and work side by side with them to help them realize their dreams. We offer in-home services throughout Charlottesville and its surrounding counties, as well as at our beautiful education center, located at 515 Locust Ave.

Co-owner and Chief Operations Officer Lee Elberson was born and raised in southern Louisiana.  He joined the Marines at 17 in an effort to find some discipline in his life.  Well, he found it and went on to graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in physics and was inducted into the honors society Sigma Pi Sigma.  He then went on to obtain a master's degree in chemical physics at the University of Maryland where he taught many classes in the physics department.  Lee did his PhD research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory working on relativistic electron transport in a laser-induced plasma.  Needless to say, Lee has a love for all things quantifiable.  He is an energetic person who has a passion for educating others and he enjoys coaching young adults to achieve their goals.  Lee spends his free time training for marathons, playing poker, watching Imax 3D movies, or creating some ridiculously intricate spreadsheet.
